The Peccatte (Pe-caht) String Quartet is comprised of professional musicians
who met in graduate school at the University of Louisville.

FELIX BORGES holds a Master's degree in Cello Performance from the University of Louisville. He has performed as a guest soloist for the Recife Symphony Orchestra in Brazil playing the Variations on a Rococo Theme by P. I. Tchaikovsky, the Dvorak Cello Concerto in B minor, and the Haydn Cello Concerto No.2 in D major under the baton of renowned Brazilian composer Marlos Nobre. Felix has also performed with the production of The Last Five Years at Actors Theatre in Louisville and has played with the Louisville Ballet and the Kentucky Opera.
He is a member of the Peccatte String Quartet and the A/tonal ensemble. He teaches at the University of Louisville String Academy, Southern Baptist Seminary School of the Arts, and Oldham County Schools Arts Center. Felix lives in Louisville with his wife Celia and daughter Stella. |
JULIANNE GUNN earned her Master's degree from the University of Louisville in Violin Performance in 2012 where she studied with J. Patrick Rafferty. She was a member of the Graduate String Quartet and concertmistress of the UofL Symphony Orchestra.
As a registered Suzuki teacher, Julianne previously ran an active violin, viola, and piano studio in Louisville. She is currently the Orchestra Director at Lassiter Middle School in Louisville, Kentucky.
She lives in southern indiana with her husband James and their three kids.

SAM MEADE was the violist in the University of Louisville Graduate String Quartet coached by Patrick Rafferty. He was principal violist from 2012 - 2014 for the University Symphony Orchestra and studied viola performance with Brittany MacWilliams, where he also served as a graduate teaching assistant.
Prior to U of L, he earned a B.S. in music education and a B.S. in sacred music while studying viola with Professor Fritz Valenches. He was a recipient of the Virginia Mitchell Music Scholarship (2009). He received and is continuing training and registration in Suzuki Violin with Dr. Timothy Durbin (2012, 2015 - 2016). Currently, he enjoys going to various middle and high schools in the Jefferson County Public Schools and works with their viola sections.
He holds teaching studios at the Boaz Performance Academy and the Seminary School of the Arts where he helps direct the Suzuki String Program. He has performed in various orchestras in the Kentucky area and is a founding member of the Peccatte String Quartet. Sam is a member of the Suzuki Association of the Americas, the American Viola Society, and the American String Teacher Association.

REBECCA NEELY was born in Grand Rapids, MI, but was raised primarily in Cedar Rapids, IA. After beginning violin as an eleven year old, Rebecca joined her 6th grade orchestra and studied private with Marlas Windus, a previous member of the Cedar Rapids Symphony Orchestra. Rebecca received a scholarship to the University of Iowa, where she studied violin under Katherine Wolfe and earned her Bachelor of Music degree. With violin as her main instrument, at the time of degree she also studied chamber music, violin pedagogue, baroque violin performance, orchestral excerpts, jazz and classical improvisation, and viola.
Rebecca won the Graduate Assistantship to the University of Louisville, earning her Masters in Music, specializing in violin performance under the instruction of
J. Patrick Rafferty. As a graduate student, she also won the audition of concertmaster of the U of L Symphony Orchestra and a scholarship to study for a short period of time in Katowice, Poland. Rebecca has also performed in numerous masterclasses with performers such as Bayla Keyes, the Turtle Island String Quartet, and Nadja Solerno-Sonnenberg. Rebecca is incredibly thankful for every teacher she has worked with, understanding that she could not be the musician she is today without their instruction and guidance.
Currently, Rebecca performs in the Peccatte String Quartet and works in the Louisville area as a teacher with Sayers Classical Academy. She also teaches a studio of private violin and viola students and performs as a freelance musician with many of the surrounding orchestras and musical ensembles.
